According to a statement from the Yale University Police, a shocking incident of sexual assault took place in the early hours of Tuesday, May 9th.
An armed intruder broke into the residence of a Yale University graduate student at 2 AM, brandishing a gun and subjecting the victim to sexual assault.

At present, the victim has been sent to the hospital for treatment, the police have not disclosed more information about the case.
The site of the incident is a residence at 300 Block on Elm Street (the location of the red dot below), it is reported that this is an off-campus apartment, but it belongs to the traditional Yale campus, and it is also a place where Yale students often visit, with many shops and restaurants along the street.
At the time of the incident, the victim was sleeping and suddenly woke up to find that the suspect was pointing a gun at himself, and then sexually assaulted him.

Yale University, located in New Haven, is a typical college town with a population of 130,000. Due to its long history, the African American population here accounts for 34%, and the crime rate has always been relatively high. Despite the efforts of the Yale University police to enhance security in recent years, heinous incidents still occur from time to time.
What makes this case particularly shocking is that the perpetrator broke into a regular residence and used a gun to threaten and sexually assault the victim. The nature of the crime is extremely abhorrent. We hope that the authorities can swiftly bring the perpetrator to justice!
